CUBE STEAK RECIPE
Cut approximately 1 lb of cube steak into bite size pieces.
Put 2 cups-ish of flour into a bowl and add salt and pepper to the dredge the cut meat in the flour. I use a metal mesh colander to shake off the excess flour before browning.
In a skillet, warm up coconut oil on medium heat and brown the bite size pieces. As you brown the cube steak you may need to add additional coconut oil. I like to use my dutch oven and cook the cube steak in the dutch oven and able to scrape all the browned bits and pieces off the bottom of the pan.
Once the meat is browned add to a baking dish with a lid or a dutch oven. You can cook this in a crock pot as well.
While the cube steak is browning, cut up an onion and red pepper, add 1 can of stew tomatoes and add beef broth until the meat is covered.
Put in the oven at 275 or 325 for about 2.5 or 2 hrs and stir once.
We like to serve with egg noddles and or mash potatoes and is a perfect, easy family meal for a week night!
